About HB Water Damage

HB Water Damage is a set of plain-language water damage guides for Huntington Beach and the nearby Orange County and Long Beach communities, with one phone line that connects callers to independent restoration contractors.

It is operated by Mogup SARL. It does not perform restoration work, does not set prices and is not a party to any contract you sign with a contractor.

In short

HB Water Damage exists to answer the questions people ask when water is on the floor: what to do first, what the contractor will do, what it costs, what insurance usually pays, and what is different about homes in this part of Orange County. The phone line is there for the moment reading is not enough.

What the site is for

Most water damage pages online are written to win the search result, not to help the person standing in the wet room. The guides here are written to be useful on a phone at 11 p.m.: short answers first, then the detail, then who to call. Every location page is built from facts about that town, such as the age of its housing, who runs its water and sewer system and where its flood risk comes from, so the advice fits the house you are actually in.

How the guides are researched

Primary sources only

Facts come from the City of Huntington Beach and neighboring cities, the US EPA, FEMA, the California Department of Insurance, the Contractors State License Board, the Census Bureau and the IICRC standards that restoration contractors work to. Each page lists its sources at the bottom.

Numbers are dated

Cost figures name the survey and the year. Local figures name the city document they come from. Where a source is older, the page says so.

Nothing is invented

There are no made-up reviews, no stock "team" photos presented as staff, and no claims about response times or prices the site does not control.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, send the page and the correction through the contact page. Pages are updated, and the update date at the foot of each guide changes when they are.

How the phone line works

When you call, you are asked for your zip code, what is wet and where the water came from. The call is then connected to an independent restoration contractor who covers your area. The contractor does the inspection, gives the estimate and does the work. Contractors pay a fee for connected calls; callers pay nothing to HB Water Damage, and the fee is not added to your bill. The full explanation is on How it works and the Referral marketing disclosure.

What a contractor must show to receive calls

  • An active license from the California Contractors State License Board. Any repair or reconstruction worth $1,000 or more in California requires one.
  • Current certificates of general liability and workers' compensation insurance.
  • IICRC training for the technicians doing the drying, ideally the Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification.
  • The zip codes the contractor actually covers, so calls are not routed to a company two counties away.

HB Water Damage asks for this from every contractor that joins directly and from the call network that routes calls. You should still check the license yourself at cslb.ca.gov before work starts: it takes one minute, and it is the single most useful thing a homeowner can do before signing anything.

What the site does not do

  • It does not employ technicians, own equipment or perform restoration, plumbing or construction work.
  • It does not warrant or guarantee any contractor's work, pricing or availability.
  • It does not run advertising trackers, sell your details or text you.
  • It does not give legal, insurance, engineering or medical advice. The guides are general information; your policy, your insurer and a licensed professional decide your case.

Questions people ask about the site

Who owns HB Water Damage?

HB Water Damage is operated by Mogup SARL, which also owns the content on this site. It is not owned by a restoration company or an insurer.

Why does the site not show a team?

Because the site is a guide and a phone line, not a contractor. Showing a crew that does not exist would be misleading. The people who do the work are the independent contractors your call is connected to.

Can I use HB Water Damage to find a contractor I already know?

The line connects you with a contractor who covers your area from the network; it cannot route you to a specific company. You are always free to hire any contractor you choose, and the guides work either way.

How do I get my restoration company on the line?

Use the contact page to send your CSLB license number, insurance certificates, IICRC certifications and the zip codes you cover.
